Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI)
MARTTI

As the holiday season is upon us, we are proud of all that we have accomplished working together with stakeholders in the healthcare interpreting profession and industry this year. In 2017, the number of certified healthcare interpreters crossed the 3,000 mark, counting over 3,300 certificants across the nation at the end of the year.

Today we announce five recipients of 2017 Fall cycle of the “Discover Healthcare Interpreting” CoreCHI™ Scholarship. This scholarship supports certification of interpreters of languages for which only the CoreCHI™ certification is currently available, including refugee languages and languages of lesser diffusion. We would like to take this opportunity to thank MARTTI and Erika Shell Castro, personally, for the contribution to our inaugural scholarship.

MARTTI is a leading video medical interpreting provider with more than 250 languages available on-demand and with nearly 60 of those languages available in live video. The company’s focus on healthcare means MARTTI can concentrate on patient communications and draw industry-specific insights that enhance clinical decision-making, drive better outcomes, and improve patient satisfaction, which makes their client hospitals even stronger. MARTTI is committed to innovation—upgrading infrastructure, Interactive Voice Response, telemedicine, and other emerging technologies—and to supporting professional standards of interpreting.

The Fall 2017 recipients of the “Discover Healthcare Interpreting” CoreCHI™ Scholarship, sponsored by MARTTI, are:
